FAQ

Answer: Your total work shift is scheduled to be 10 hours but some days it may be slightly longer or shorter. Factors affecting the length of your day would be how quickly you work, the size of your route, and customer needs. The goal is to fully complete your route within the 10-hour workday, as this is what Amazon expects. Your shift includes time to pick up your van, load the packages, and drive to your delivery area. It also includes break times and a lunch. While you are training you will be given “nursery routes” which are about half the size of a normal route. As you learn the areas and the system you will gain efficiency and confidence and your delivery speed will increase.

Answer: No, you will be driving a delivery van that we provide for you.

Answer: It is a high roofed van so it will be much taller than you are probably used to. There are side mirrors and backup cameras to help you navigate, and you will need to avoid any overhead objects like basketball hoops, apartment building covered car areas, drive-through at restaurants, etc. Safety is a top concern so please let us know if you need more training and we will accommodate that for you to feel comfortable and safe.

Answer: We provide Amazon logo uniform shirts, pants and hats that are worn each shift, as well as a safety vest that must be worn at all times at the warehouse. You will also receive a name card with limited warehouse access during your shift. Close toed shoes are necessary as well.

Answer: Your day would start by checking in and getting the key to your van and conducting a vehicle inspection. We will have a quick team meeting and then load the vans. The majority of your day will be spent making deliveries in your assigned area and helping other team members as necessary. At the end of your route you will report back to the warehouse and check in with staff, sweep out your van, review the day and any challenges/achievements, and then return the van to the parking area.
